These rather nice vases were 3D printed by SoMakeIt meber Antfurn. The multi-coloured one was printed on a modified Lulzbot AO-101 3D printer by physically swapping in different coloured filaments as the print was running.
It’s a challenge to swap filament in most 3D printers, and running out of filament on the roll during a print normally means disaster. However Antony used a high tech solution to get the next piece of filament to follow the last – using a pencil sharpener to make the end of the filament into a point so he could feed it in to the extruder without loosening the idler screws:
